Welcome to the Mexia High School Counselor page!  We are proud to serve all students here at MHS in grades 9-12. We strive to provide a comprehensive guidance and counseling program that addresses the various academic, social, emotional, and guidance needs of our students.  Our goal is to promote and support student success while our students are here at high school as well as after they leave us to move forward with their post-secondary goals.  Parents and students are encouraged to visit with us if they have questions or needs regarding counseling and guidance at Mexia High School.  Please see the link below for more detailed information on the services provided by the counselors at MHS.

Time:          6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

What is the FAFSA?  (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

The FAFSA makes it easier to get money for college or career school.  To get financial help, fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form.  Then your college will tell you the types and amounts of aid you can get.

On November 7th, 2018, we will have financial aid experts at MHS to help you complete the online FAFSA application.

What to bring:

  • FSA ID numbers for both students and a parent/guardian (www.fafsa.ed.gov)
  • social security numbers for both students and parents
  • driver’s license numbers for both students and parents
  • alien registration number (if not a U.S. citizen)
  • 2017 tax information and/or returns, including w-2 information for both students and parents
  • Records of untaxed income, such as social security benefits, welfare and veterans’ assistance
