ACE Program

Welcome to Mexia ISD ACE! We are excited to start another year of hands-on, innovative clubs to engage your students in learning.

ACE Program Hours:

Morning Jumpstart:  Monday thru Friday 7:00-7:45 a.m.- ALL kinder thru 5th grade students are welcome to attend. During this time, PK-5th grade students participate in a variety of physical activities in their respective gyms.  There is also staff available for any 3rd thru 5th grade student that needs assistance with homework completion or a brief tutorial.

Afternoon:  Monday thru Thursday, 3:15-5:30 p.m.-LIMITED SPACE available.  Students must enroll. Transportation is available to all enrolled students.  Currently students are participating in a variety of activites including: homework assistance, reading and math tutorials, curriculum enrichment, recreation, and career exploration!

 The ACE program supports the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children. The program is designed to help students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math. ACE also offers a broad array of enrichment activities such as MakerSpace, Wonder Workshop, Music, Cooking, and Recreation. 

Dates to Remember:

  • February 19th – President’s Day, Student Holiday
  • March 9th – Early Release
  • March 12th thru 16th – SPRING BREAK!
  • March 30th – Good Friday, No School
  • April 19th & 20th – NO SCHOOL

Family Engagement:

Research shows that when families are involved, students perform better in school and beyond!  This year the ACE program has partnered with the McBay/Sims PTA to provide monthly family “Paw’ty Nights”, which include a variety of crafts and activities in conjunction with the monthly PTA meeting. These events are held on the 2nd Monday of every month; dates are as follows:

January 8, 2018-PTA Meeting for OFFICERS ONLY.

**February 12, 2018** Family Literacy Night

Meet the Site Coordinator

My name is Jami Archer.  I am employed by ESC Region 12 as the ACE Site Coordinator for Mexia ISD.  As such, I oversee the programming at both McBay and Sims.  I can be reached by phone at (254) 562-4030 ext. 4630, or by email at  I have offices on both campuses, and *usually* can be found at Sims throughout the morning, and McBay during the afternoon.

A little information about myself: I am a 1999 graduate of Mexia High School.  I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&M-Commerce in May of 2009.  I have one son, Bryce, who is a 2017 graduate of Mexia High School, and a 2 year old daughter, Rhyan.

Prior to becoming the ACE Site Coordinator in 2014, I was employed by Mexia ISD as a 1st grade teacher for 5 years. I am  honored to have the opportunity to provide the ACE program for the pre-kindergarten thru 5th grade students of Mexia ISD.  I want to work with you to make this the best year for your child!
