We invite you to attend as we continue to provide opportunities for families to be involved in the learning process and academic success of our students.

ACE PROGRAM HOURS

Morning ACE (6:55-7:55am): All 1-5 grade students are welcome to attend.

Afternoon ACE will focus on students in need and will be by invite only. If space allows, we will announce room for open enrollment.

ACE provides enrichment activities such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), cooking, clubs, SEL (Social Emotional Learning), team building and recreation.

FAMILY ENGAGEMENT

Research shows that when families are involved, students perform better in school and beyond! This year ACE will provide monthly family events for your family to enjoy. Flyers will be sent home each month with info.

Ace will be starting the 22-23 school year by invite only.

MEET THE SITE COORDINATORS

R.Q. Sims ACE Site Coordinator

Hey! My name is Emily Green and I work for Region 12 Education Service Center & serve MISD as R.Q. Sims Site Coordinator. This is my 5th year as an ACE coordinator and my 14th year in education. I'm looking forward to a great year in ACE!!

About me: I graduated from Corsicana High School in 2001 and continued my studies at Navarro College(class of '03) followed by Texas A&M- Commerce(class of '05). I am married to my fantastic husband for 3 years and we have an amazing dog =) I'm a Proud aunt to 16 nieces and nephews. I have taught multiple grade levels from Kinder to College. I took a short break from education to help care for my grandparents while running my own business. I returned to education when I began my career as ACE Coordinator and I am so happy to be here at Sims!!

McBay Elementary ACE Site Coordinator

Hello and welcome to Mexia ISD ACE! I’m Jackie Collins, and I am employed by ESC Region 12 as the ACE Site Coordinator at McBay Elementary and Mexia ISD. My office hours are 10:00 a.m-5:00 p.m., Monday thru Thursday, and 10:00am-2:00pm on Fridays. I am excited to work with your students for the 2022-2023 school year!

This year marks my fourth year working with Mexia ISD and in Education. However, this will be my first year as an ACE Site Coordinator. I previously taught 6th grade English and Language Arts for Mexia Junior High, so teaching students and helping them actually learn how to learn is important to me. I am looking forward to providing our students with educational and engaging things to do in both our morning and after school programs!

I am a 2005 graduate of Mexia High School, and I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&M-Commerce. I have one son, Kasen, who is a 5th grader at R.Q. Sims Intermediate School. I am grateful for the opportunity to provide the ACE program to our K-2 students, and I want to work with you to make this school year the best for your children! I consider it a blessing to be of service to MISD, as I love like the sense of community Mexia offers. This is a unique place to be, and I am anticipating an amazing school year!
