Attention ALL Mexia Area Veterans: You are invited to a Veterans' Day Breakfast & Program on Friday, November 10 at 8AM

In recognition of our future Veterans, we would like to HONOR those called to duty by sending care packages to our deployed MISD and local graduates. Serving as a small token of our appreciation and gratitude, the care packages are reflective of our mission to say THANK YOU to former students, and honor their service of selfless sacrifice.
We would like to invite you to participate in Operation Care Package. We are collecting donated care package items at the DC Campus. You may drop off items Monday – Friday during school hours. Additionally, I have enclosed a list of troop favorites. Lastly, we APPRECIATE you for your willingness to give and support our troops.
Sincerely,
The DC Staff

Mexia ISD is blessed with the BEST!!! Please take a moment and express your appreciation to our campus principals.

Red Ribbon Week

At Mexia ISD we are continually working to improve the quality of education for our students, to help do this we are engaging in a pilot program with ESC 12 and TEA known as Texas Strategic Leadership. Through this work we will be examining our district level systems, how they impact each campus, and ultimately determine what experiences our students are receiving. Better yet, what experiences we want them to receive as a result of what systems need to be strengthened, created, or removed as determined by this data and a process of strategic planning. As a parent, your input is vital to this process, and therefore we would like to invite you to complete this survey. All survey information is anonymous and will close on October 16, 2023

Good evening Blackcats,
Tonight the MISD Board of Trustees approved two recommendations for hire for the upcoming school year.
First, I am pleased to share with you that LaKechia Johnson will be moving from the Principal of Sims Intermediate to become the new Executive Director of Human Resources.
Also, the new CTE Director will be Mrs. Christine Walker who is joining us from Spring Branch ISD where she has been helping them build and expand their CTE programs from the ground up for nearly 20 years.
It's a great day to be a Blackcat!

Good evening Blackcats,
Tonight the MISD Board of Trustees approved the 2023-2024 Instructional Calendar (attached). We will continue working on details of the Accelerated Instruction Weeks and share when those are finalized.
Also, I am pleased to announce that Shelli Killingsworth will be moving into the role of Executive Director of Student Programs for the 2023-2024 school year. Prior to being the Executive Director of Human Resources, Mrs. Killingsworth worked with Bilingual/ESL, Migrant, Homeless, and Foster Care programs.
