Mexia ISD will release students early tomorrow, Thursday, November 14, 2024 beginning at 1:30pm. This is to support the logistics of traveling to the varsity football team playoff game in Grand Prairie. It’s a great day to be a Blackcat!

Parents of emergent bilingual students, the T3 Series Family Event is still on for tomorrow, December 14th at 12:30 pm, but will accommodate parents for the early dismissal. Please join us in the Mexia Junior High Library for a family outreach and training that will provide parents with the required parent and family literacy services, activities, and trainings needed to improve their English language skills.
Our McBay students had a blast with the Roving Chef activity, where they got creative by painting and tasting different fruits! It was a fun way to learn about healthy eating and the amazing variety of flavors that nature has to offer. Shout out to our campus principals and instructional coaches who facilitated PLC meetings yesterday focused on fine tuning the lesson internalization process and planning for student success!!!
Thank you to Mr. Appleton and his Executive Team for our 7th semi-annual staff appreciation meal. It makes a huge positive impact on employee morale to be cooked for and served a delicious meal by your district leadership. Pit-smoked brisket & sausage, calico baked beans, homemade potato salad, rolls and Mom's banana pudding were on the menu last Friday...YUM! A big shout-out to Mr. Bud Shamblin (MISD board member) for making the effort to help serve this special meal! It's always a great day to be a Blackcat!
