Due to the weather closure the 8th grade parent meeting that was scheduled for today with the High School Counselors is canceled. This will be reschedule at a later date.

Happy Principal's Day!!! Have you given your principal a hug today?

Good afternoon Blackcats,
We are monitoring the weather very closely as severe storms appear to be heading our direction. If they arrive in Mexia around dismissal it could become necessary to keep students inside for a brief time, potentially causing a delay of releasing students, particularly if there is lightning or high winds in proximity to the schools.
At this time we are on regular schedule. We will continue to monitor and let you know if any changes become necessary.

Progress continues at Blackcat Stadium! Installation has begun of the bleachers on the visitor side. Work is also being done on the home side right now, making preparations for pouring more concrete soon. It’s a great day to be a Blackcat!

Last night our Mexia ISD Board of Trustees adopted our 2024-2025 Instructional Calendar (attached).

Congratulations MHS April Award Winners!

Thank You Mexia ISD School Bus Drivers!

Good News from Blackcat Field:
Construction crews have been working on site preparation and today concrete is being poured on the visitor side bleacher project. The progress has been excellent and on schedule to host our Class of 2024 Seniors on Friday, May 24th. The home side bleachers are set to be ready for the Blackcat’s first home football game.

With testing season upon us, MISD's Executive Team (Ryder Appleton, Brad Andrews, Shelli Killingsworth, LaKechia Johnson & Erica Chapa) treated our hardworking staff to a buffalo wing meal fit for a king. This homemade lunch was a labor of love by our leadership team complete with smoked/fried buffalo wings, sweet and salty waffle fries, five different scratch made sauces and two decadent dessert trifles. A special shout out goes to two of our board members (Lisa Lauderdale & Ron Fowler) who also came to help serve our staff.
It's a great day to be a Blackcat!

Reminder: Monday, April 15th is a Staff Development day for Mexia ISD. No school for Students.
