The Administration Building employees had their Annual Chili Cook-off today and here are the placings: 1st (Angie Rogers), 2nd (Debbie Nelson) & 3rd (Brad Andrews). If you see them out and about, offer them congratulations!

Mexia ISD was awarded a grant from Texas A&M to help bridge the gap for our students with disabilities in their transition from school to adult life, especially with transition from school to employment. Blackcat Avenue will provide our high school students with job skill training, communication skills, and self-advocacy training

Join us at 3:00 p.m. on Jan. 23rd in the MHS gym to cheer on the MHS Basketball teams before they face off with Westwood! Games start at 5:00 p.m. at home!

Mark your calendars! MLK Parade and Program!
On Jan 13, St Luke's United Methodist Church will host the annual MLK Jr Day Parade through Downtown Mexia. Afterwards, there will be a program at the Civic Center entitled "Shifting Priorities to Promote Unity and Justice".
The MHS Band will be performing as well as other organizations.
If you would like to be a part of the parade, please meet at the First United Methodist Church in Mexia at 10:00AM.
The Parade will start at 11:00 AM.
There is also an art and essay contest with cash prizes. See the graphics below for information. Entries are due Jan 7.

Mexia ISD Holiday Band Concert will take place on Thursday, December 7, 2023 in the High School Auditorium beginning at 6:30 pm. All instrumental musicians in the Mexia ISD band programs will perform in this concert. There will be two beginning bands, two Jr. High bands and one High School Band. It will be an extravaganza to delight all ages including music from the season to help kindle that Christmas Spirit. Everyone is invited to attend this festive occasion!
