Welcome back, Blackcats! 🐾
We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving break filled with family, food, and fun. As students return tomorrow, please remind them to clean out those backpacks and come ready to finish this semester strong!
Holiday activities are in full swing, and we’re also gearing up for Mock STAAR the week of December 15. Let’s show what our students know! 📚✨
We can’t wait to see everyone back on campus!

MJH Family-

🖤❤️ Thankful for Mexia ISD! ❤️🖤 We are overflowing with gratitude today! Mexia ISD donated an incredible 4,356 pounds of food during our annual Food Can Drive — shattering last year’s record and making a huge impact for families in our community. Our MJH Student Council teamed up with MHS to collect, organize, and serve during this district-wide effort. Their leadership, teamwork, and heart are exactly what makes being a Blackcat so special. Thank you to every student, staff member, and family who helped make this possible.

🍁📚 Thankful for Growth at MJH! 📚🍁
Today we’re celebrating what truly matters — student growth and the amazing teachers who push, guide, and encourage our Blackcats every single day.
Our students have been putting in the work, showing grit, and making big strides in the classroom. And behind every bit of progress is a teacher who refuses to give up on them. We are so thankful for the passion, dedication, and high expectations that move our kids forward. Congratulations to the students who met their math goal!

🍁 Dear MJH Family,
As we move through this busy season, I just want to take a moment to say how truly thankful I am for our incredible MJH community.
To our staff — thank you for showing up every day with heart, grit, and dedication. You pour into our students in ways that matter far beyond the classroom.
To our students — thank you for your energy, your growth, your resilience, and the joy you bring to our halls. You are the reason we do what we do.
To our families — thank you for trusting us, supporting us, and partnering with us to help our Blackcats shine.
MJH is stronger, brighter, and better because of YOU.
Thankful to be a Blackcat,
Principal Wilson

🖤🍽️ CTE Cooking Crew in Action! 🍽️🖤
Our CTE Cooking classes rolled up their sleeves and got to WORK just in time for Thanksgiving! They made banana pudding and chocolate pie completely from scratch — and let me tell you… these kids understood the assignment! 🥧
From mixing, whipping, and measuring to taste-testing (the best part 😄), they learned real kitchen skills while creating real holiday desserts.

Congratulations to our 6th grade boys for winning the Super 🏈 Bowl! Very proud of how hard they worked all season. 🏆

Students in life skills learned about perimeter/area by building a fence for their turkeys using marshmallows and toothpicks. They then decorated cookies to celebrate thanksgiving

📣 Happy 67th Day of School!
At this point in the year, we’ve been in school long enough to know two things:
1️⃣ The number 67 now lives rent-free in all our junior high brains.
2️⃣ Our students will find any excuse to make a 6–7 joke.
Here’s to day 67—may it be 6-7 times better than yesterday! 😄

🍩 Thank You, Blackcat Families! 🖤
A huge THANK YOU to all the parents and guardians who joined us this morning for Pastries with Parents in honor of National Parent Involvement Day! Your support, smiles, and presence mean so much to our students and our MJH staff.
Seeing our cafeteria filled with families connecting, laughing, and sharing a sweet moment together truly made our morning. We are grateful for the partnership we have with each of you—together
