Each year, schools across the country celebrate Read Across America Week the first week in March. This date was chosen because beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss was born on March 2nd.

CTE Month ended with 8th graders making flowers as they learned about floral design, and producing vegetables in the Plant Science program. In conjunction with Communities in Schools (Mariel Olvera, MHS Class of 2019), PNC Bank-Mexia representatives (Amber Medina, MHS Class of 2014 and Francis Marez, MHS Class of 2016) spoke to Mexia High School seniors about credit reports, loans, and account services. We appreciate the community support and enjoyed seeing our former Blackcats paying it forward to our current students.
